Christian life is… being a 212 person

Today I was introduced to the idea that at 212 degrees water boils. My church showed this video

I just loved it! Check it is pretty powerful (and no…I do not gain anything from posting this here).

To be a christian is to believe that through God we can be better, we can reach our goals, we can be HOT… boiling point and more.

So, sending hotness your way (and yes… I love the double entendre).

Christian life is … to be secure in the God of meaning

This week God has been speaking to me about how a lot of the things we do are for our own “vanity”.  Salomon talks about that a lot on Ecclesiastes… I still don’t fully understand. After reading chapter 2.. I am still …HUH? If everything is meaningless than why do anything? Netheless to say I believe Salomon was a little depressed when he wrote that. Still, what can we get from it?  The trick of understanding what Salomon meant in Eclesiastes 2:24-26. In these verses we see that God gives satisfaction to the man that pleases Him. Others labor day in day out and get meaningless things in return. This is very encouraging to me. To know that God will make any situation look positive because of my relationship with him.

Christian life is knowing that God is sitting right next to you

Why are you crushed down, O my soul? and why are you troubled in me? put your hope in God, for I will again give him praise who is my help and my God. Psalm 43:5

The greatest certainty in christian life is the presence of God. Some people believe that Salvation is the greatest gift that God has given us. It is not. The greatest gift is the joy we find in His comfort, His sovereignty, and His grace. So, if you are struggling with something be reminded that God does not leave you for even one second.

Christian life is: to see Praise in a different way

Years ago I read a Luis Palou book (hey! I was 13 so I truly forgot the name). So let’s call it the Praise book. Well the praise book stated we should PRAISE God for everything. That was truly a new concept to me. I tried and I have been trying it since then. It is truly mind boggling to thank God for bad stuff. After all, it is easy to thank Him when things are going good. But to thank him when you are crying? Thank him when things don’t go our way? That is crazy. Yet, when we do it, we find a peace that surpasses all understanding.  To praise God when things are bad is to say: God, just hold my hand. Your presence is enough.

Christian life is… to know what you stand for

Have you ever thought about what it means to be “a christian”?  This blog was created to talk about Grace, Joy and Love but I realized that my heart is in writing about what it means to be a Christian. Of course having God’s love, joy and grace is part of being a Christian so I am staying a little on my initial topic!

Webster’s defines Christian as “one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ”. It is that and much more! Join me in our quest in defining what it means to be a Christian! I am so excited!!
